Tofu Buffalo Wings

This is such a fun and simple recipe! A great side dish pairing for this meal is to cut some potato's into homemade fries, throw some seasonings on there and bake it or chuck them in the air fryer!


Ingredients:

- extra firm tofu

- panko bread crumbs

- 1/2 c Hot sauce

- 1 egg

- 1 tsp garlic powder

- 2 tsp paprika

- 1/2 tsp black pepper

- 1/2 tsp red pepper


Directions:

  1. Slice tofu into rectangular slices (I like to cut each slice into halves but you can cut these however you like best!)

  2. In 1 bowl, beat egg and mix in hot sauce

  3. In a second bowl, mix bread crumbs and seasonings

  4. Carefully dip each tofu piece first in the egg mixture and then dredge in the bread crumb mix.

  5. Either place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly sprayed with a non stick spray, or place directly into an air fryer.

  6. Bake at 375 until crispy (about 10-15 min) or cook in an air fryer until breading becomes crispy and browns.

Tofu Trick*

If you would like the texture of your tofu to be more similar to chicken, you can freeze it and then fully thaw it before cooking. This simple trick changes the texture and moisture of the tofu when you cook it. It's super easy it just takes a little bit of pre-planning.
