The Best Turkey Chili

This Recipe is unbelievably quick and easy to make. It's one of my husbands favorite meals. In fact, the chili featured in this picture was made by him! Perfect for a cozy fall meal.


  • 1 pound lean ground turkey

  • 1 medium yellow onion

  • 1 28oz can diced tomato's

  • 1 6oz can tomato paste

  • 1 15.5 0z can tomato sauce

  • 1 15.5 oz can kidney beans

  • 1 tablespoon cumin

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth

  • 2 tablespoons corn starch

  • 1/4 cup water


  1. brown ground turkey over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Remove from heat

  2. dice onion and place in a frying pan over medium high heat until they become slightly translucent but remain slightly crisp. remove from heat

  3. In a large pot, combine tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth and seasonings.

  4. add cooked turkey and onions. stir to combine.

  5. place over medium high heat

  6. in a separate bowl, combine corn starch and water. stir until smooth

  7. add to chili, stir to combine

  8. bring chili to a simmer stirring constantly as it thickens

  9. cover and let simmer until your chili reaches your desired thickness

  10. serve topped with cheddar cheese and/or sour cream (nutrition hack: substitute sour cream for a scoop of lowfat plain greek yogurt)
