This recipe is a high protein and tasty option to satisfy a mac and cheese craving!
- 1 box red lentil pasta (I used Barilla brand)
- 1 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (I used Fage 0%)
- 1 1/2 tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 2-4 tbsp. nutritional yeast (optional but recommended)
- 1 1/3 cup reduced fat cheese
- 3 oz. Shrimp
- 1 c crab
- 2 tbsp. chives
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- salt and pepper
bring a large pot of water to a boil, add pasta and cook until al dente, strain water and set pasta aside
toss shrimp in Cajun spices and cook in a pan or air fryer
chop crab into medium sized cubes
add yogurt, cheese, nutritional yeast, chives, garlic powder, and Dijon mustard to a pot. heat over the stove until cheese is melted and thoroughly combined. season with salt and pepper to taste
pour cheese sauce over pasta, add shrimp and crab, mix until evenly coated.

Nutritional Yeast: This is a more uncommon ingredient but definitely one of my favorites. It has a mild cheesy taste but packs a load of protein and B vitamins. It is also a plant based complete protein source (contains all of the essential amino acids) and it is a great source of antioxidants!
