Gluten Free Soft Pretzels (air fried)

Growing up with Celiac Disease meant I missed out on trying a lot of fun food BUT, we can scratch soft pretzels off the list!

  • 1 egg

  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

  • 1 tablespoon yeast

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 2 tablespoons baking soda

  • 2 tablespoons coarse salt

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine honey, warm water, and yeast. Let sit for 3 minutes

  2. add 2 cups of the flour, and baking powder. Beat until well combined.

  3. add egg. mix

  4. add remaining flour and mix until a moldable dough forms

  5. cover with plastic wrap and set aside to rest for 10 minutes

  6. cut into 6 portions

  7. roll each portion into a 14-17 inch coil

  8. form into a pretzel shape by forming a U shape, crossing the ends across each other towards the bottom of the U shape, and twisting once around each other (see pictures)

  1. repeat with remaining dough

  2. fill a small saucepan with water, add baking soda

  3. bring water to a boil

  4. boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, flipping if necessary
