Breakfast Apple Crumble

A warm and cozy fall breakfast that feels like dessert!



Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1/3 cup flour (I use a gluten free substitute flour)

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3 apples

  • 1/4 cup honey divided into two 2 tablespoon portions

  • 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice

  • 2 tablespoons almond butter

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. peel each apple and cut into thin slices

  3. pour lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of honey over apple slices

  4. stir to evenly coat the apple slices

  5. spray a 9x9 pan with non stick spray. pour apples into pan

  6. in a separate bowl combine oats, flour, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, allspice, almond butter, 2 tablespoons honey, and coconut oil. stir to combine

  7. crumble over top of your apples in an even layer

  8. optional: sprinkle sliced almonds over crumble before baking

  9. cover with tin foil and bake for 30 minutes

  10. remove foil and bake for 5-10 more minutes until apples are softened and crumble is gently browned

Serve topped with vanilla or honey greek yogurt or enjoy on its own!
